Theft of services (Taxi) case dismissed in Brooklyn

Lance’s client was arrested after a cab driver complained to the police that our client failed to pay at the end of a trip. The cab driver claimed that our client pretended to dispute the final drop off location but that it was the proper location based on what the client had originally requested. The police arrested our client and released our client with a desk appearance ticket. Our client contacted us for help. When our client came to see us, we discussed defenses contained in the penal law that our client was not aware of. We worked out a plan to defend the charges and after the criminal court arraignment, we successfully settled the case with the Kings County District Attorney so that our client’s case would be dismissed as long as our client stayed arrest-free for six months.
