Theft case dismissed for our international client (Manhattan)

Our client was arrested for stealing property from a business and left the United States before the case could be resolved. Our client contacted us for help with the criminal case and for an immigration referral. We negotiated for a deal that was sensitive to our client’s immigration status and the possibility that our client would be arrested when entering the US while the case was pending, even just to go to court. The prosecutor was receptive to our recommendations and we resolved this case with an eventual dismissal as long as our client agreed to not get arrested for 6 months. We were able to accept this deal in our client’s absence and, in fact, our client never had to personally appear in court to get this done.
