Loaded firearm in Client’s personal bag (Manhattan) Probation, no jail
When going through a security checkpoint, our client was found to have
a loaded firearm in client’s personal bag. When asked about it,
client admitted it belonged to client. Case was covered in the press because
client had the type of job that made the arrest newsworthy. Facing a minimum
of 3.5 years if convicted, client turned to us to help. We reviewed the
evidence and details of the search. After lengthy negotiations with the
prosecutor, we worked out a deal involving only probation instead of jail.
