Leaving the scene of an accident causing physical injury dismissed (Manhattan)

Our client was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident in Manhattan. When later contacted by the police, our client gave a confession over the phone and afterwards contacted us for help. We met our client for a case evaluation, discussed the charges which carried up to a year in jail, and went over our client’s options. We spoke with the detective and arraigned for our client to surrender to fight the case in court. After our client surrendered and the case was in court, we entered a plea of not guilty and fought the case. After several months of litigation, we noticed that the prosecutor failed to file certain documents that are required to be filed with the complaint. We successfully moved for a dismissal and the case was dismissed, no criminal record.
