Grand larceny investigation into stolen car successfully closed in Queens

2020

Our client contacted us because the NYPD found evidence that our client transferred title and obtained possession of an automobile fraudulently. When we reviewed the title and supporting documents, we concluded that the NYPD had insufficient evidence to warrant an arrest. The NYPD was aggressive in pushing our client to come to the precinct but we were able to bring the investigation to an end without arrest. No charges filed and client successfully avoided arrest. This was a particularly good turn of events because given the value of the automobile, the charges could have been for grand larceny in the second degree which could have subjected our client to up to 15 years in prison.
