Grand central Exposure / lewdness charges dismissed for professional
2017
Our client, a business professional, was allegedly inside a urinal in Grand
Central when he exposed himself to an undercover police officer. Our client
admitted to the police that he had previously done the same thing there
before. After being released from the police station with a desk appearance
ticket charging him with lewdness (pl 24500) and exposure (pl 24501), he
contacted us for help. After discussing the nature of the charges and what would likely
happen in court, our client retained us to start his defense right away.
After a few months of litigation in which we filed an omnibus motion to
challenge the evidence the prosecutor planned to introduce at trial, we
were able to negotiate a deal to have the criminal charges dropped as
long as our client pleaded guilty only to a non-criminal violation called
disorderly conduct and attended some counseling sessions. No criminal
record resulted.
