Domestic violence rampage in Queens with property damage and assault eventually dismissed

Lance’s client had an angry argument with a former romantic partner and, while intoxicated, allegedly damaged the ex’s car causing thousands of dollars of damage and bit, scratched, and assaulted the ex-partner causing physical injury. This client consulted with another lawyer who then referred them to us for a case evaluation. After reviewing the case file and speaking with the prosecutor, we immediately applied for a special deal to have the case dismissed given some of the mitigating information we provided to the prosecutor and we agreed to obey an order of protection. The case was successfully resolved without a trial and with a deal to have it dismissed as long as the order of protection was obeyed and as long as our client stayed arrest-free for 6 months. (ACD)
