Domestic violence criminal charges dismissed in the Bronx

Lance’s Client was arrested for hitting client’s girlfriend in the face, leaving dark bruises which she had photographed by the NYPD. Our client was shaken because the police and prosecutor were especially critical of client’s conduct and the prosecutor threatened conviction at the arraignment. Client worked for a hospital and any conviction could lead to the loss of client’s career. Client faced up to a year in jail and a permanent criminal record. After our client contacted us, we reviewed medical records, photographs of the alleged domestic violence injuries, the domestic incident report, and police and complainant statements. We successfully negotiated with the prosecutor for a deal that avoided trial and resolved our client’s case with a small fine, a program, but no criminal record, and no jail.
