Lance’s Client was arrested for assaulting ex-wife. Our client faced severe repercussions if convicted, not only because of the danger of a year in jail, but our client’s employer would fire our client if there was a conviction. Additionally, the prosecutor threatened to make it a felony rape case if our client didn't take a misdemeanor conviction. Our client contacted us for help fighting the charges. We fought back by unearthing an immigration-based motive that the complainant had to lie in addition to the lack of physical evidence. The case was later dismissed after several months of litigation in criminal court.
