Lance’s client, a celebrity musician, was arrested for harassing his ex wife by threatening to harm her. He was charged with harassment, a misdemeanor carrying up to a year in jail. Our client had an old criminal history and this was significant because having priors can make the prosecutor more interested a harsh sentence. After several months of litigation, we were able to convince the prosecutor to drop the most serious charges that would have given our client a permanent criminal record. We successfully resolved the case with no criminal record, a small fine, and some community service.
